Young man, there’s no need to feel down. March 13, 2009

We’ve proven it wasn’t a fluke, Varsoon is down again.

Second String had made a plan earlier in the week to give him another try to get updates for Taylona and Sasspanz. We had a guild conjurer, Nugsinoth, join us to fill in for Snappe. Nugs also needed the Varsoon kill to finish his TSO Signature quest. So the group was:

Anep – 80 ShadowKnight
Sinnir – 80 Templar
Taylona – 80 Fury
Sasspanz – 80 Assassin
Nugsinoth – 80 Conjurer
Castillion – 80 Coercer

The run actually went fairly smoothly although we wiped several times in Palace because we were all jacking around making fun of each other. We also wiped to Varsoon a couple of times, but I actually think we could have beat him on the first pull except we had some incredibly bad luck, including losing Nugs to LD, all of which we very nearly overcame. The next couple of pulls we lost due to curses at the wrong time or him spamming his curse and getting a resist on interrupt but, in the end, we killed him again.

I have to say, the Varsoon fight is intense. It’s a real challenge that is a lot of fun.

That’s brought some nice fabled pieces into the guild and probably will put Nugsinoth back over the edge of outparsing me every pull in the raids. He was actually turned down for a couple of Palace groups because “conjurer’s can’t DPS” – I had to laugh.

Tonight is a raid night and I think we are going back to give Thet-em-aua in TotMC his walking papers.

Anep bought a new hat. I have a picture, he’s on the far left in the cowboy hat:
